From a rough piece of rock to a perfectly polished cabochon, learn the basics of lapidary during this one-day workshop. Participants will safely use the cutting equipment and hot wax tools to transform gems into decorative art. After registering, check out the supplies to see what materials are part of the fees and what participants need to purchase.
Materials needed to bring:
- Respirator – “3M P100 Household Respirator with 60921 filter cartridges” is absolutely prefered, but N95or KN95 will also work. No other form of mask is permitted.
- Apron
- Ultra-fine sharpie marker
- Eye protection
- Pen/pencil and paper for notes
Materials that will be supplied:
- Lapidary equipment – cabbing unit and trim saw
- Dop wax and dop sticks
- Agate/jasper/chalcedony slab that the stone will be cut from
