Join Leon Loughridge for a demonstration of the traditional Japanese woodblock printing process knows as mokuhanga. Unlike western forms of relief printing that use oil based inks rolled or padded onto the carved wood, mokuhanga uses a brush with pigment and is printed by hand with a baren. Leon will demonstrate how kento, or registration marks, carved into the wood matrix allow for easy registration of multiple blocks.
